The Right One – This Relationship Is Destined To Work

“And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their hearts and with all their soul.”

2 Chronicles 15:12

As a young adult, I have come to know the hurdles of many relationships. I now also recognize the gravity of intimate relationships and how the heart, all wrapped up in its emotions, can become dangerously entangled with vulnerability.

This vulnerability indeed opens the door ajar for the enemy. Jealousy, anger, envy, all sip through this door into our vulnerable hearts over relationships.

But the more disturbing truth is that the vulnerability and heartache we force ourselves to endure over troubled or failed relationships, don’t compare to the vulnerability we have over the relationship we refuse to devote wholly to.

Friend, I’m referring to the relationship that is already destined to work – the relationship with God.

Often times we come across our peers, both younger and older, searching endlessly for ‘the right one.’ Whether it be a list, or some sort of mental check board, we hold on to the inevitability of ‘the right one.’

But what if I told you that ‘the right one,’ ‘the perfect relationship,’ ‘that extra-ordinary partnership we sought, is the one with Christ our savior?

How many failed relationships have you witnessed? How many desperate relationships have you seen troubled by uncertainty? How many relationships have not been ‘the right one,’ for you? How many relationships have you cried, begged, and put in immense effort to sustain? How many relationships have left you feeling broken?

How many relationships have you seen fruitless? How many relationships made you doubt yourself and your self- worth? How many relationships have you had to sacrifice more than you had for? How many relationships have you faithfully put your heart, body, and mind to?

How bad did it hurt when you realized that even that was not enough?

I for one remember the inner turmoil and battles that plagued my spirit as I endured disappointment from one relationship to another. Some friendships lasted years and ended without notice. Some close relationships ended with painful aches in my heart over words said and unsaid.

I never knew that ‘the right one’ was waiting for me all along.

The Right One is waiting on you too today friend.

Waiting to love you, cherish you, renew you, restore you, refine you, and honor you. If only you would seek Him that adores you with all your heart and soul as you did those empty relationships.

I wonder if you could come to a place where your soul embraces the warmth and healing that a relationship with God brings. Your reconciliation with the Father through Christ, is a relationship that is destined to work!

So why won’t you commit?!

I don’t know what else you have tried in life that has not worked, but I urge you to try God this time around. He alone will wipe away your tears and heal your broken heart. He alone will show you what true love is.

Friend, the relationship with God is The Right One you have been looking for, and it is yours for the taken because God wants you more than you can ever imagine, and you need Him more than you will ever know.

May our heavenly Father look down upon us in mercy and grace to give us the faith and courage to commit our mind, body, and spirit to Him who loves us more than we could ever deserve, in Jesus name. Amen.
