I DO NOT follow elections. I DO NOT watch campaigns. I DO NOT read about politicians. I DO NOT always vote.
And before the shaming begins about not utilizing my right that so many of my ancestors gave their lives to fight for, you should know that I have already voted for the One who really does Rule ALL.
I couldn’t possibly name three of this year’s runners if you offered me a million dollars for it. I know there is a Ted cruz. And there is Hilary Clinton. And of course Donald Trump. I know these names for reasons outside paying attention to the campaigns for power among these political heads.
Truthfully, I only knew for sure who Ted Cruz was only after I allowed myself to engage in a political discussion a few weeks ago.
The only election year in which I paid any attention, was 2008. Of course, you can guess why. The election of President Obama was indeed an amazing occurrence in world history that I was honored to witness. Besides, I needed an A in the course that demanded that I paid attention…
That was 8 long years ago.
I posted a thought on social media that would not go away…it reads,
“We live in a world where its rulers would rather you fear them than fear God.”
Billions. Billions! Of dollars go into these individual campaigns and set objectives in the aim to assume the role of leadership and power. Whether or not God is directing these prospective rulers of the free world, seem to never ever come up in the questions asked.
I wonder if there exists a law that mandates keeping God out of the election, as the one that mandates that we keep God out of our educational systems and even our workplace.
In truth, it seems the only place we are allowed to have God, is in the privacy of our homes…but I thank God for that alone…
I admit I have not paid attention to elections since i discovered what they were. I have no use for elections because it is my believe that I serve the Ruler above all rulers and His leadership, counsel, and instructions are the only ones worth trusting.
God earned my trust when He didn’t have to by sending His son to DIE for me!
Friend, I wonder today if you have failed to pay attention to God’s own campaign for His kingdom all around you and even inside of you. I wonder if you have been seduced by the promising words of man who knows no tomorrow.
Amazingly, politicians continue to make promises they really do not have control over, for “the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof!”
This truly is not about voting for this candidate or the other, it is a call to search your heart and your ways, and to examine whether or not you have ignored the Holy truth that Christ is indeed the King of all kings! And He alone should be feared.
But does He have your attention?! Has His words and promises been touching the tip of your ears? Have you seen over and over again, the wonders of His hand but fail to acknowledge His candidacy as the ruler of your life?!
Friend, does Christ have your vote?!
The great thing about a commitment to the Lord your God, is that you will never have to question whether or not you made the right decision, “for God is NOT man that HE should lie.”
I pray today, that the One who truly makes all things new and fulfills ALL of His promises, will be welcomed into your home and your soul forever more in Jesus name. Amen.
