For His Glory Alone

glory

“Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.”

1 Chronicles 29:11

It has been three weeks since I heed the word of God and left my job at Nordstrom.

That’s three weeks without a source of income, three weeks of being still (trying diligently at least), three weeks of fervent prayer and wait, three weeks of unwanted doubts, three weeks of fighting to be grounded in complete Faith.

It has been three weeks of the same answer to the same questions asked by different people. It has been three weeks of private crying sessions with my Father and more private quiet sessions with the Spirit.

It has been three weeks of on-and-off discomfort. Three weeks of telling the voice of the enemy to get lost.

Three weeks…

I almost forgot how strenuous and exhausting a job search can be for a graduate. The irony however is that, there are jobs everywhere, vacant positions left and right, all around me, but I know any position just won’t do. I am awaiting God’s own placement. And it is as uncomfortable as it is rewarding.

Before, my reason for saying, “I can’t just work anywhere,” had more to do with what I know I was capable of, but now, it is because I know what God is capable of, and it is for His glory alone.

As I scroll up and down job search boards and scan through potential job offers, I wait eagerly and desperately for the Spirit and the Spirit alone to say, “Go.”

Anything else is a clear and profound, “NO!” (CHECK OUT “NO MEANS NO!”)

The resounding words within remind me that God’s placement is no ordinary position so I cannot let my fear or doubts of any income lead me away from the direction of the Most High God.

God removed me from one state to another. God provided the job I ASKED for. And when the time came, God removed me from the position I picked to place me elsewhere for His purpose. There is no turning back now, nor is there turning left or right.

So I wonder today, if you are in a similar state friend. What resounding messages are you receiving from the Spirit about the next steps you should take.

I wonder if the Spirit is telling you to even take a step or two back or simply be still.

What are you doing with your time? Have you sought your Maker for purpose? Or are you so confined by a false sense of security that you cannot even hear when the Lord is speaking so clearly about your current position?

Are you so attached to your position that you have failed to consider God’s own divine placement?

Friend, if it does not glorify God, what is the purpose? If God’s not there, why are you? If God is not in it, why are you? (READ ABOUT ADDING GOD)

I pray today that the Sovereign God who has called us for His glory and His alone, help us to stand in faith even when what we think we know is an opposition. May we be equipped with God’s strength to leave where we should and go where HE leads in Jesus name. Amen.

The Rocks Have A story Too

rocks

“And he answered unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Luke 19:40

The rocks got a story too! Who knew?

When the Pharisees asked Jesus to rebuke his disciples for rejoicing and praising God at the Mount of Olives, Jesus’ response was one that would remain edged in the minds of generations to come.

He said the stone would cry out and proclaim God even if the disciples were to be quiet!

Could you imagine the voice and language of rocks? The stones that lay on your path when you walk, and the billions that rest in God’s glory along the sea shores. Could you imagine how loud and glorious that sound would be? If God gave rocks the voice to tell their story and give God the glory, would your voice matter anymore?

But God in his infinite grace and mercy gave you the lips to praise and proclaim HIS glory through your story.

Why are your lips still sealed? Why is your heart hesitant to share your story for His glory?

The scripture tells us in Romans 10:14,

How can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”

There are ears waiting to be told, eyes waiting to see the glory of God! That glory friend, is living and breathing in you!

But you have not opened your mouth yet. You have not told your story of how God brought you from the brink of hopelessness and put new life inside your body through His son, Jesus Christ.

And the enemy is the one at work. It’s no coincidence that the filthiest secrets of man become the most amazing work of God, because God does not leave us to die in our wretch. God does not leave his children in sin. Christ sought us, found us, and saved us. Glory be to God for the victory!

You know your story. But others need to know too for HIS glory! It is ALL for his glory!

Or are we waiting on the rocks to proclaim Our Father’s name?! (Won’t HE do it?!) From the smallest pebbles buried in the earth, to the largest rock that sits in the middle of the world’s waters, God is able to raise them up to give Him praise if we fail to do so!

My prayer for us today is that our Almighty Father grants us a voice loud enough, and the courage bold enough to proclaim His wondrous works in our lives. May the enemy never again be able to shut us up in Jesus name. Amen.
