Our Father Says to draw Nearer II

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

James 4:8

We get too used to sleeping and waking up and being healthy physically, running around freely, aiming to attain this thing and that thing, wasting time being so busy with life that we don’t appropriate and prioritize the time to be with God.

We often confine a timeless God to the time we give attending our routine ‘church days.’

Friend, do you realize how much time has been and is still being borrowed as you live in this world? How graceful has God been year after year, preserving your time on earth and that of your loved ones?

How graceful has God been year after year, preserving your time on earth and that of your loved ones?

How much of that time have you given lately to being with God? speaking to Him? listening to Him? singing to Him? Dancing for Him?

Have you drawn nearer to your Father?

I dare you to seek the difference in knowing God as the Creator of the Universe and drawing nearer to Him as your father. Indeed The God we serve is unsearchable but He is never unreachable to His Own.

We sing of the peace that is found when we are nearer to God, the strength that we feel when we are nearer to Him, the joy that we feel when we are nearer to Him, the clarity that is when we are nearer, yet we stray.

I pray today for a renewed longing and yearning for nearness to God.

I pray that we are overwhelmed so much by His love and His grace that we fall humbly at His feet and spend time with Him, basking in His glory and Honor and Holiness. I pray for blurry visions to be made clear and for our hearts to be made new again in purity as we draw nearer still.

May God continue to grant us more of His abounding grace and strength on this path of righteousness in Jesus name. Amen.

Our Father Says To Draw Nearer I

“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

James 4:8

There is nothing like the presence of God – the illumination around you, the knowing in your core that the Lord of Hosts is near, and the peace in your spirit as you surrender to the presence of HIM.

I love the Lord. He is so faithful in His word. He tells us to draw near to Him and He will come near to us, and that is exactly what He does.

I ask myself often whether or not I have spent enough time with God. I am not referring to the time spent at church or at bible study, but enough time with God.

I try to gather how intimate I feel inside. I try to measure whether or not I feel far or near to our Father. I know that if I am spending enough time close to God, I am full of His love, His peace, and His nearness. When I begin to feel light, weak, and weary, I know that I have missed one too many one-on-one times with the Lord.

Friend, how about you?

How close have you been with God lately? How far do you feel from Him right now?

It’s amazing how busy we become, so much so that we often forget that we are moving steadily only by God’s grace and not in our own strength or power. We forget Whose favor gives us life each new day. We get too used to sleeping and waking up, moving our body parts and not having complications. We become too comfortable with having God’s grace that we forget what it is.

We often forget that God’s favor gives us life each day.
