Stop Forgetting That God Remembers

“Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you…”

Deuteronomy 4:23

When I was younger, there was an old African Hymn at my church that urged God to remember us in our ‘lack’ and to remember HIS promises to us. Although the hymn was often sung as worship, looking back now, I wonder if God chuckles at our prayers that seek HIM to remember us.

As if God could ever forget His own.

Friend, God remembers all. Aren’t we the ones who continue to forget His word? His promises? His commands?

Are we not the ones who fail to remember that we serve a God who never sleeps nor slumbers? A sower who knows where He has planted ever seed? A rainmaker who knows when to let the rain pour on the seeds He planted?

God is God! He remembers every single word you ever uttered since you learned to speak. He remembers every heartbreak you have endured since you learned to feel. He remembers every promise that He made to you, your mother, your grandmother, your great-grandparents, and even to their parents!

He is God – The Alpha and Omega!

Often times, we let our worries, our human mind, our human understanding, our human analysis get the best of us and we forget how Great our God is! We forget the miracles of old that we read in the Old Testament. We forget the miracles that fell for our eyes only when no one else was watching! We forget how amazing God is!

So we become bothered, we get discouraged, we let our thoughts overwhelm us, we let the events of today distract us from yesterday’s promises, and tomorrow’s harvest. Allow me to remind you that God still remembers! He never forgot and He never forgets!

We serve a good good Father. One whose mercy and grace is new every morning. I dare you to awaken your mind to the limitless possibilities of a limitless God! I dare you to remember how certain His word Is! I dare you to encourage yourself to keep believing for that miracle that the enemy wants you to forget because of what it looks like right now!

Friend, God remembers! In due season, in due time, His word will surely come to pass!

I pray for a reviving spirit to come over your mind today. May a refreshing wind from heaven overwhelm your soul today. May you be lifted up again, expecting again, believing again, remembering again, that the Lord your God is for you and has not forgotten you. Your seed is still right on time in Jesus name. Amen!

Prayer Is The Master Key

prayers

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven…”

2 Chronicles 7:14

I thank God for prayer. I thank God so much for the freedom to tap into heaven in my tears, in my fears, in my uncertainty, in my confidence, in my joy, in my pain, in my confusion, and in my clarity. I thank God for the master key that is prayer.

I thank God so much for the freedom to tap into heaven in my tears, in my fears, in my uncertainty, in my confidence, in my joy, in my pain, in my confusion, and in my clarity.

I thank God for the master key that is prayer.

I have a job that demands more of my peace and prayer than I am naturally willing to give, often feeling almost incapable of giving since I am trying to keep it for myself.

This community of God’s people does not resemble the one in the chapter that preceded this one and that too has its misgivings.

The pages of this current chapter are nearing an end as I see the calling of my life on the horizon before me. Admittedly, the sentiments in my humanity are spilling over.

I feel the wars going on, the battle to take over my mind, to overwhelm my spirit, to distract me from purpose.

I feel the realm of warring raging around me, above me, and there is unsettlement in my soul. Things are being shaken out of place and into place and my knowing is all I have

I feel the wars going on, the battle to take over my mind, to overwhelm my spirit, to distract me from purpose.

I feel the realm of warring raging around me, above me, unsettlement is stirred within me. Things are being shaken out of place and into place and my knowing is all I have

So I pray.

In my disappointment, I pray. In my discomfort, I pray. In my disagreement, I pray.

The tears spill out of me even in a fasting season, and still I pray.

Friend, prayer is the master key.

Prayer is the heavenly language designed and delivered on the tip of our tongues to fight and win battles we cannot see, to release blessings from heavens’ gates, and to remind us of the power of God on the inside.

That is why the word of God tells us to worry about nothing and pray about everything.

I wonder if you, much like me, could use a day to just pray.

I wonder if you could use a day to call upon your Father and His angel armies to fortify the walls of your reality, to strengthen you from the core, and to claim the victory that is yours.

Friend, prayer is the master key. There is no door that prayer cannot open and no door that it cannot shut according to the will of God.

Prayer is our weaponry to win the battles even here on earth. So I urge you to start using it like never before.

I pray that God gives us the words to pray even when we do not know that which we ought to pray. I pray that the Holy Spirit moves us to our knees to bow down in faith and truth in prayer. May we be fortified when we feel too tired to pray. May our focus be realigned when we feel too distracted to pray. And may the windows of Heaven pour out a new anointing that drips humility into our being so we pray fervently as we ought to in Jesus name. Amen.

Resisting The Lies Of The Adversary

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

James 4:7

I am keenly aware of all the disorder going on in every community I am planted in. The unease I constantly feel about what is missing is one that is hard to ignore.

Then again, I don’t believe I am supposed to ignore anything in this realm of grace and glory. So still I beg for more grace to withstand the lack of order in front of my eyes. I hear the mandate of God to pay close attention.

I am told to pay attention to what is, and what ought to be. At first, amidst these revelations, I did not realize that I had begun to worry more, pray less, and shorter even.

Unknowingly, I had began to doubt the promises of a Faithful God in this short time. It was no ordinary thing that in my search within, I no longer felt like myself.

I felt lighter, weaker almost, like power and confidence was being drawn slowly out of me.

Then suddenly, it dawned on me that the adversary was at work and I had not been resisting him hard enough. I had stopped tapping in to the All-mighty grace and power of God to resist the enemy until he flees.

I wonder how absent-mindedly we often are about the subtle, yet powerful attacks of the adversary over our visions and especially over our minds. In my awareness now, I was able to see how much the war waged against what I was hearing and seeing, which started to affect that which I was thinking and then saying.

Friend, are you paying attention? Are you attentive to how weighed down you feel by the lies of the adversary?

Clarity surfaces when the Holy Spirit of God begins to stir you up again in prayer and longing for the word of God like you once did.

I urge you to pay attention to the memories that God is bringing to your awareness.

Are you remembering times you woke up each day expecting God’s best and moving confidently in that expectation?

Are you remembering times when your faith was so unshakable that nothing was impossible to you in the name of God?

Are you remembering times when you clung to the truth  in your thoughts, words, and deeds, that you are nothing without God and His will for your life was all you were after?

Friend, this is how we resist the adversary!

Remembering the truth of God and realizing that the only way to fight  back the lies of the enemy is being fully equipped with all that is God – His truth. His Word. His will.

What has the Lord said to you? What has the Lord promised you? What has the Lord said about you to you?

Are these the things you meditate on day and night?

Or do you become so distracted with the pace of a restless world that you are unable to live in the peace that is the truth of God?

I pray for us today. May the Lord of Hosts pour again His truth, His refreshing eternal word of peace, joy, and love, into our Spirits. May our backs be straightened once again and our heads lifted high in confidence again as we resist the enemy until he flees in Jesus name. Amen.

Raise Your Head, Don’t Look Down!

looking down

“Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.”

Isaiah 57:2

There is a danger to looking down while on the move.

As one who is literally on the move in this walk of faith with God, I confess that there is indeed an ill to looking down while moving.

Take for example in the natural physical realm, we are all too aware of the great danger in texting or operating on your cell phone while driving. When you look down, there is a great likelihood that you miss what is in front of you.

You could run into something or someone and in the careless collision, kill that thing or even yourself.

Friend, it’s no different while on the move with God.

I can’t imagine what we would miss if we dare look down for too long. I cannot imagine the consequences of that moment of forgetfulness and recklessness when we forget to look forward and keep our eyes on God.

What would we miss? what would we run into carelessly?

Undoubtedly, we have crawled, cried, and sometimes cursed (and immediately repented) on our journey thus far. But still we keep on walking even with our limp. Even with the uncertainties of life ahead, even with the pain in our body of fasting and praying endlessly seeking God in all things, even with the heaviness in our hearts when the call feels too overwhelming, we must keep on moving.

Stop looking down at how worn or dirty your ‘shoes’ are in this walk of faith.

Although I do not mean that in the literal sense. But for some of us, it may very well apply. You may have been pushing that lemon of a car for a long time, waiting on God to grant you the favor for better. You may still be waiting on that great big miracle that is yet to come. But as long as God lives, it will come in its due time because you serve a faithful God.

I can personally attest to how ‘worn’ some areas of my life have felt from time to time. There are things I would love to do for my family and communities, but until God says its time, I keep on walking in faith.

And I urge you today to do the same.

As tempted as we often are, we cannot afford to drop our head in despair even momentarily, for the joy of the Lord is indeed our strength.

Rather, we will raise our heads up towards the heavens in gratitude for God’s abounding love and mercy having brought us out of sin and bondage to walk with Him in glory.

Know that our Father in heaven will not leave nor forsake us. You have all that you need right now to do what God has set out for you to do.

Stop looking down. Keep your eyes on the Way-maker. The Lord will ALWAYS MAKE A WAY.

May the Lord our God who knows all things and can do all things, continue to mold us into a better posture to keep walking from faith to faith and glory to glory in Jesus name. Amen.

Seek Ye First…(Part 1)

seek ye first

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?…Really think about it. These are moments of truth.

What is the first thing you do when you get to work? Who do you first check in with?

What is the first thing you do when you return home?…remember your answers carefully because we are about to examine what it is you really seek first. And I am sure the truth will shock you, as it did me.

If  all three of your answers were anything other than you ‘seeking first the kingdom’, then friend, we both have some work to do.

Let’s really think and talk about it.

When you arise in the morning, do you not know that it was grace that kept life in your lungs and health in your body to rise to see the new mercy of a new day? Is it not so you can seek the kingdom yet another day?

When you get to your place of work, do you not know that God is indeed the ruler of all things? have you not been placed there by God to glorify Him for the position He alone has granted you? Could there not have been another in your place? Is it not so you can seek the kingdom through your words and deeds while He fulfills your needs by keeping your place at your job?

And when you return home safely in your abode, do you not know that it was still grace that kept you under God’s watchful eye, protecting your steps and movements throughout your day’s journeys? Is it not so you can seek the kingdom in thanksgiving for the completion of yet another day?

Bottom-line, if grace and mercy in God’s kingdom agenda did not have you in it, why else would you be alive when you could have been long gone or worse, alive, but living as though you were dead?

I wonder how much burdens we’d be giving up in return for fullness of strength and faith if we sought God’s kingdom first rather than worldly treasures.

If we sought the kingdom rather than our own thrown of power, if we first sought the kingdom, how different would our walk in purpose be? How easy would life be if we were capable of truly believing God for what HE already promised us as His children?

If we could completely trust our Maker, the Author and Finisher of our life’s race, that all things, not some, but all the things we seek will surely be added to us, how joyous and fulfilling would our journey be?

I mean, consider all the effort you and I put into sustaining our friendships and our social settings. Consider all the time we put into going into events and fulfilling work-mandated obligations. What do we really seek when we do these things?

Do we daily seek love, wisdom, compassion, harmony, truth, justice, forgiveness, and kindness? Or do we seek a paycheck and companionship to last us enough till the next best thing comes around?

Yet, we complain and wonder why we are not basking in the riches and wealth that the Word promise us.

I mean, God is not man that HE should lie. Are we not the ones who are yet to commit to living in complete truth? CONTINUE READING HERE.

Lord Keep My Eye On You

eyes on God

“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.”

1 Chronicles 16:11

If you are like me, finding grace in the sight of God to know Him in another realm than before, has got a hold of you in ways you never imagined. But it is such an amazing hold; one that you could never be pure enough to hold onto but graceful enough to never lose.

But the thing is, as life goes on and you start to see things from this new dimension, you realize just how lost you have been when your focus was on other things or other people than God alone. If not for grace…

As more time passes and trials and tests arise, it gets even harder and even more necessary to keep your eyes on God.

The world is so busy. Everything is moving all around us in such a fast pace, that we long to catch a breath but wouldn’t dare in fear of missing something. We get distracted.

We get distracted by the weights of our pending bills, sick loved ones, discomforting relationships, demanding careers, confused missions of purpose, and ultimately how fast time is passing. We hope and pray that we are still on track for destiny.

How easy is it to be side-tracked by the many distresses of this world?

It’s one thing to miss the beauty in this world, but it’s another to miss God altogether. And I wonder if the enemy is using your very own flesh to tempt you away from the courts of glory by taking your eyes off of God.

So many of us, in our worry have not only lost sight of purpose, but have lost sight of the Most High.

Friend, how do you keep from losing sight of purpose? How do you keep from losing hope of what is greater? How do you keep the faith and the strength? Is your eye still on God?

Do you still look to Him to counsel you through your chaos and confusion? Do you still look to Him to do what appears impossible? Do you still look to Him because He is able? Do you still look to Him to speak into your life choices? Do you still look to Him to fix what is broken? Do you still look to Him to make a way? Do you still look to Him to examine your ways? Do you still look to Him to be the judge? Do you still look to God to do what only He can do?

IS. YOUR. EYE. ON. GOD?

There is no other way, none, whatsoever than to keep your eye on the One who is still in control.

You do still believe that don’t you? You do still know that He who never sleeps, is still in control?

No matter what it looks like, no matter what it feels like, or what it even seems like, I urge you today to keep your eye on God. I pray for you, for me, that our merciful Father who knows all and sees all will grant us the faith we need to keep our eyes on Him. As we make our way to destiny, may we never lose sight of His greatness and glory in Jesus name. Amen.

Strength In Solitude – Part 2

solitude

“So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him…”

Deuteronomy 32:12

You often need to be alone to hear the voice of God. You need to hear the voice of God to learn His ways and His truth. Even meditation requires alone-ness. That is no coincidence. God is intentional in what He prescribes so his children can get to know Him and be closer with Him.

It’s also no coincidence that most people are terrified to be alone. Many of God’s children would rather dwell in the loudest crowd and be lost in worldly noise than to stand alone and be led in the walk with God…It takes strength to be alone, because it takes strength to live a life of purpose in a world of lust, lies, and wickedness.

Remember that even Jesus faced the biggest temptation of his life by the enemy when He was alone on the mountaintop…And He overcame…There is strength in solitude because God equips you with it!

So I wonder today if you’ve been running along with everyone else in order to avoid alone-ness. I wonder if the enemy has convinced you that alone-ness will bring loneliness. But the devil is a liar!

I wonder if you’ve been absently present in the midst of chaos rather than present alone at the throne of grace…

Do you feel the pull of God to a place of alone-ness? Do you feel the hand of God leading you to a place by yourself? Has God told you that you alone are destined to walk this road? Do you know if the friends, the job, or the family cannot come with you to the mountaintop?

It. takes. strength. But God’s strength is more than enough, because He already promised that He is our strength when we are weak.

And if you are in your time of solitude, you are NOT alone, but only alone with GOD! Although you may feel pain, or feel like you are being pulled and stretched, you will not break. God is with you. God is for you. God is in it with you. His will be done in Jesus name, and God will get the glory over your story in Jesus name.

I am here to tell you that you will not succumb to your weakness in Jesus name. You will answer the call in Jesus name. No strongholds will blur your path to solitude in Jesus name. And if you are reading this post alone, know that this is already the beginning of your solitude with God. This is the beginning of new strength, and faith, and hope, and courage. May your walk be a testament to the glory of God in Jesus name. Amen.

Healing Comes From God

healing

I remember a time not too long ago when the pieces of my shattered heart and spirit felt like it could never be put together again for any use. Loneliness, misery, and depression were my closest friends. See the thing about getting your heart broken by loved ones is that the pain cannot be willed away.

Rather, it forcefully becomes anger and frustration, or a numbness that overwhelms your whole being until you are someone or something you no longer recognize.

Despite the healing methods prescribed by many others in this world, the liquor, sex, bad company, and new habits or exercises don’t heal. They may repress and distract you from the pain inside, but it remains and will remain until you step out of the way and receive true healing from the Greatest healer of all.

Let God do what only He can do best – heal, revive, and even renew.

Though it is often said and believed, that time is what heals, I have learned by grace that healing comes from God. Nothing or no one can heal you like our God in heaven can. The touch of his loving and powerful hand is what we can always count on to heal us through and through.

He sent his Son to come down to save us, to heal us, to redeem us. God would not redeem us to have us in pain. He wants to heal you, he wants his children to come nearer to him in faith and receive the healing they need. The blood of Christ that was shed on Calvary began the healing. When Christ rose again in victory, the healing became permanent.

Our father in heaven says,

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”

So what pain have you been trying to heal on your own today? Will you please bring it to God my friend? Won’t you ask the Great healer and redeemer to heal you today?

Bring it to Him who will give you back beauty for your ashes. Watch Him heal you like you never thought possible.
