Thank Goodness For A Sound Mind

sound mind

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 1:7

The closer I walk with the Lord, the deeper the Spirit calls me. The deeper I go, the stranger I feel. Yet, I thank God for a sound mind.

I am arriving at the last leg of my stay in New York before my relocation to yet another place that the Lord has called me to. One week left to be exact.

And amidst the many transitions around and within, I feel a longing like no other for clarity. I seek God for clarity above all things. Amidst the shifting of realms inwardly and outwardly, I pray desperately for clarity. I pray to see what the Lord has set before me with the eyes of the Spirit and the eyes of the Spirit only.

I realize that what I’m truly yearning for is the ability to maintain a sound mind.

Friend, do you know that the enemy lurks, waiting for the opportunity to grab hold of your mind? Even if it’s for a quick minute?

From thoughts of doubts and desperation, to thoughts of confusion and calamity, the state of your mind is a target for the evil one.

A sound mind in God is not the same as a ‘sound’ mind of this world.

Take inventory. What exactly is the state of your mind?

Is your mind on the things of God? Is your mind set to seek the Most High God in ALL things? Do you have a disciplined mind? Is your mind quick to discard thoughts that do not align with The Word of God? Is your mind save enough for God to deposit His Holy Will?

Friend, how often do you lose your sound mind? How often does your focus shift from God’s will and drift to your own self-motivated and unwise desires?

Have you been so caught up in your goals and your ambitions lately that you have forgotten about that Amazing grace? Have you failed to remember that all that you are and all that you have is not by your might but by the grace of the Most High God?

I ask once again, how sound is your mind?

The enemy would like us to forget. That devil would rather we throw our hands up and become of the world rather than just in it. The deceitful one would rather you lose your sound mind and conform to the things of this world. But that devil is a liar!

Please be reminded today that you and I have been set apart by the Almighty God. You and I are a chosen generation who are to be the light of the world. We have been given the Spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind.

And by the grace of God, we will use that sound mind along with all else that we have been given to carry out the perfect Will of our Perfect God in Jesus name. Amen.

HE Already Made The Pro-vision For The Vision II

provision

“Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision.

Psalm 144:13

My first week back in New York revealed more provisions that the Lord had already placed before me even before I heard HIM say to come back here.

As often as HE has made a way, I remain in awe.

The vision I saw included packing my belongings again and re-locating again.

When I needed my car shipped to New York and did not know how I was going to pay the cost, the money came. My parents, my sister, and my god-sister all put what they could together to assist the shipment. That provision was already made for the vision.

At work, the right clients make their way to me and the flow of success keep me in awe. This is yet another provision that God had already made when HE gave me the vision.

My earnings at work from the first 3 days back paid for my car payment for the month of June. This time, I had enough left to pay my credit card bills for the month. God is so amazing!

What I’m trying to say friend, is that no matter what it looks like, everything and everyone needed to bring the vision to fruition has already been provisioned by God.

If you recall, the root word, ‘pro,’ means before. It means to come in front of. Because God is endless and forever IS, HE has already gone BEFORE you, AHEAD of the vision HE put inside of you, and has created the PRO-vision for you to prosper in the vision.

Friend, you have everything you need in God!

The doors with your name on it, the opportunities with your name on it, the victories with your name on it are already placed by the MOST HIGH GOD for the due time.

Please don’t be alarmed that you have some battles with your name on it because the victories comes after the battle. That too is a provision by the Way-maker.

This is why you can never get comfortable in a ‘lacking’ situation. Unless, the Lord stills you, you keep moving. You keep working. You keep praying. You keep hoping. It’s coming.

Just remember that whatever you need has already been provided for by the Maker of ALL things.

I pray today that you are empowered with hope and new strength to trust in the vision. I pray that you are enabled by grace to see past what you can touch, and see into the realm of glory that the provision for the vision is ALREADY there waiting for you in Jesus name. Amen.

Psalm 144:13

3 months ago, when God assigned a new place for me to walk in purpose, I was perplexed. Before the “what,” came the question of “how?”

“Lord, how will the funds come to take this trip?” “How will the ones I am to visit welcome me amidst their own tasks and ticks?” “How will I respond to my loved ones when the questions about yet another move pour in?”….”How, Lord.”

The most significant one being, “Lord, how will I get there?”

My last two months in Atlanta was spent working two part-time jobs, one of which was a minimum-wage cashier position at a restaurant. And as God would have it, enough income came from both jobs put together, to add up just enough for my rent and other bills. There was no left over funds to save or hide-away.

So once again, I asked God, “How?”

Initially, I concluded that I was to go from Atlanta, Georgia to the assigned place the LORD commanded. I was wrong.

“You will go back first,” said the Voice. That was almost  9 weeks ago.

Exactly 2 weeks before my move back to New York, the Spirit told me to reach out to my former manager from Atlanta that had been promoted to the New York location I left. I obeyed.

I did not even know that the door had already been open. I just had to obey and walk through it in faith.

When I spoke to my manager, I immediately poured out the truth to him. I informed him about my pending journey to yet another place and how the Spirit instructed me to reach out to him first. I told him that it’d be a very temporary position. 7 1/2 weeks temporary to be exact.

The only question my manager raised was when I would like to start. I was told to reapply for the position since I only left the company about 6 months ago. Again I obeyed. I did not yet see it, but God had already done the rest.

No interviews, no training, no obstacles whatsoever.

I was back working at Nordstrom 4 days after my plane landed in New York. The pro-vision had already been made for the vision God showed me, and I’m still in awe of it all.

Vision – PART II

vision

“Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha…”

2 Kings 6:17

In 2 Kings chpt 6, we are introduced to a story where vision was needed to win the battle. And if we diligently ingest God’s Word, we would see all through the Bible that more often than not, vision is a necessary weapon to win.

In this particular instance, an enemy of the children of Isreal, sent armies to capture Elisha and his servant. When the servant got up in the morning, he was immediately filled with great fright and confusion, seeing that the horses and chariots of the enemy had surrounded the city.

The servant, even with eyes wide open, did not yet have the vision to see. His state of sight was affected by what he saw in the physical realm, which then disrupted his lack of awareness. In his state of sight, he stopped being aware of the All-knowing, All-powerful God.

Then a confident, faithful, prayerful Elisha said,

“Don’t be afraid…those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

The servant saw but yet had no vision…

Until the Lord opened his eyes as prayed by Elisha. It was not until the Lord granted the servant vision. It was not until the Lord unveiled his spiritual sight to see that there was a mighty God, with an army of angels that surrounded them.

The location was the same. The day was the same. The circumstance was the same. But now, vision was present.

Friend I wonder today if you are filled with worry, uncertainty, confusion, anger, pain, or fear about what you see, rather than what you are supposed to envision.

I wonder if we were all born blind but with our eyes open. I wonder if God’s own perfect wisdom has been long awaiting our knowledge of what we physically see in front of us, to catch up with what the Lord knows is ahead of us.

Is it possible that you see, but lack vision?

How amazing would it be to envision the true glory and might of God as we make our way into our everyday battles of life? How confident would we also be to proclaim to others that the One who is with us, is so much greater than the one who is against us? That victory is already ours!

May God almighty renew our state of sight today, and empower us with the vision to see what only HE can show us as we walk in the full armor of HIM who created heaven and earth. May we now begin to walk, talk, and be in confidence in the might of our heavenly Father. May we now press on to what is ahead of us in complete faith in a God who has never and will never fail. May our state of sight be renewed an restored each new day in Jesus name. Amen.

Vision – PART I

vision

And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.”

2 Kings 6:17

What a mighty God we serve.

In the last two weeks, there has been a shift in so many realms above me and all around me. Although temporary, I now have two jobs as well as new roles to fulfill in the House of God. I give God all the glory.

About two weeks ago, my brother, moved by the spirit suggested that all three of us, including my sister and I, should begin a virtual bible study session once a week. Since we are all in different states (time zone), we should find a time to talk about the word of God and how we are able to better apply it to our individual lives!

Thank God for a willing Spirit! My sister and I were more than happy to dive in. And so it began.

We began discussing the armor of God and how essential it is for us to take up that full armor each and every single day in order to remain prepared in position and alignment with the victory already granted to us.

The first session was so powerful that I felt compelled to share it here with everyone else.

Vision.

For many of us, the definition of vision stops at seeing. But because the wisdom of God is so much deeper than man’s most elevated understanding, the Spirit always tells you just a little bit more about a particular word.

Yes, vision often portrays sight. But within, vision also testifies to the state of what is being seen. Furthermore, vision extends to a state, that is commonly believed as imagination, but really is a state of sight into a realm above – the realm of the Most High God!

God please grant us vision!

When you look around you, what is your vision?

I am not asking you what you see, but rather, what your vision is.

Friend, do you yet understand the difference?
